The Three Musketeers is one of the most read novels of all times written by Alexandre Dumas. It is one of those novels which has got everything one can expect in a classic. It is written during the early years of seventeenth century and based on the political developments in the contemporary France and its rivalry with England. In those years bravery was highly respected and the bravery of young D'Artagnan and other musketeers is the main theme of this novel. This novel is one of the world's most famous adventure novels and is often referred to as the quintessential "swashbuckling" novel. Most readers throughout the Western world know something about the exploits of "The Three Musketeers."
