500 | _aMangalapuram tales is a collection of short stories, written over a number of years by the author. About a third of these stories are based on characters and events in a typical rural town - Mangalapuram. This town is a figment of the author's imagination, influenced perhaps by late R. K. Narayan, the creator of Malgudi. Every story is a narrative of characters set in different circumstances, facing everyday pressures of life and being forced to react to the varied stimuli. The main protagonists in these stories are therefore made to make decisions similar to those that we take in our daily lives. The author is the niece of R.K.Narayan. | ||
