His role wasfoundational for the creation of the Mauryan Empire. He was one of the pioneers in the field ofeconomics and political science in India and his work is acknowledged as an important precursorto classical economics. This text lays out his primary ideas first in Sanskrit, followed by the transliteration and translationin English for better comprehension. This is a treatise on the archetypal Indian way of life.
