A refreshingly straightforward alphabet book featuring a playful bunch of animal friends.

It’s time to learn the ABCs!

This delightfully simple picture book introduces young children to the alphabet, as each letter gets paired with an animal friend. Bold, easy-to-read letters and words, and engaging watercolor illustrations make this an ideal choice for preschoolers. From start to finish—Ant to Zebra!—this accessible primer is sure to charm while it teaches.
There's nothing new about this straightforward ABC title. Each page shows a different animal, in consecutive order from ant to zebra, whose name begins with a letter of the alphabet. It's the lovely watercolor illustrations that are noteworthy. Expressive and realistic, their softly brushed strokes capture animal faces up close against appealing, Easter egg-coloured backgrounds. Children will know most of the animals, but there are a few exceptions, such as the uakari and the vole. There's no appended roundup of animals or additional information about them, but the simple, uncluttered design and a concept that's right on target for little ones just learning their letters will attract a young audience. The alphabet, upper- and lowercase, appears on the endpapers.
