Microbial fermentation engineering refers to the use of modern engineering techniques to make use of certain specific functions of microorganisms to Produce useful products for human, or a new technology that directly applies microorganisms to industrial production processes. The Content of fermentation engineering includes the selection of strains, the preparation of culture medium, sterilization, Expansion of culture and inoculation, fermentation process and product separation and purification. Fermentation engineering plays a key role in the industrialization of biotechnology. Biochemical engineering, also known as bioprocess engineering, is a field of study with roots stemming from chemical engineering and biological engineering. It mainly deals with the design, construction, and advancement of unit processes that involve biological organisms or organic molecules and has various applications in areas of interest such as biofuel, food, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and water treatment processes. Biochemical Engineering focuses on the outline and construction of unit processes that involve biology, chemistry, molecules of engineering knowledge it includes everything from raw materials preparation to product recovery. Its formula or applications are used in various industries such as food, feed water treatment, pharmaceutical, chemical companies or biotechnology plants. The book is intended for engineers, biologists, chemist, microbiologists, and biochemist who are interested in the areas of biological systems in prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts. It desirable that individuals enrolled be familiar with some of the general aspects of modern biology, genetics, biochemical engineering, and biochemistry.
